Ganglioside GM3 with N-glycolylneuraminic acid (Neu5Gc) represents the Hanganutziu-Deicher antigen HD-3 and has been reported as tumor-associated antigen in human. Neu5Gc is a common structure in mammalian tissues such as bovine endothelial cells, but is not found in healthy humans.
