赤霉素是一种内源性植物生长调节剂。控制植物生长重要方面的激素：发芽、伸长和开花。这种效应是通过诱导della阻遏蛋白的降解和其他可能的信号途径来介导的。赤霉菌素提高茎和根的迅速生长，诱导有丝分裂和打破休眠，增加种子发芽率。另外研究发现赤霉菌素GA3也是雄性大鼠类固醇生成的激动剂。GA3是一种刺激植物生长发育的植物激素，属于四环二萜类化合物。
Gibberellin is an endogenous plant growth regulator. Hormones that control important aspects of plant growth: germination, elongation, and flowering. This effect is mediated by inducing the degradation of della inhibitory proteins and other possible signaling pathways. Gibberellin enhances rapid growth of stems and roots, induces mitosis and breaks dormancy, and increases seed germination rate. In addition, research has found that gibberellin GA3 is also an agonist of steroid production in male rats. GA3 is a plant hormone that stimulates plant growth and development, belonging to the tetracyclic diterpenoid class.
